Random things that help:
-having trusted confidants like a partner, that at least know about me being Therian
-taking time, even if only in private, to let the animal out so to say i.e: growl, howl, walk on my tippy toes, or let out whatever animals urges are normally suppressed

What finally helped was learning that no matter what the reason was for feeling inherently animalistic it didn't change the fact that I did and do feel like some part of me is intrinsically canine. And no matter how much I wanted it to go away, or weird i felt it made me, I still was therian.

For me I felt a lot of shame in my teens and early adulthood for being Therian.

Was obsessed with knowing the answer to WHY I felt so canine at times, and wished I could just be a dog or a wolf so bad.

Explored idea of past lives and also early childhood psychological reasons.
