on MLMs and the way the model hurts women

It was a pleasure to speak at the RSM Global Legal Conference in Rome, Italy on Monday, October 6.

My session explored how law firms can maximize their relationships with local universities in today’s shifting landscape of AI disruption and hyper-politicization.

My thread* on authoritarianism in the legal academy, and its origins.

*These thoughts are my own and do not reflect the views of my current employer, who has already begun to accept precompliance.

I do not know that I will ever grow accustomed to sharing that I work at UGA and having strangers then bark at me and shout “go dawgs,” and now it is happening in the Rome airport.

Maybe I’m dead and I don’t know yet

and hell is traffic on the freeway to ATL airport and I will just be stuck here forever

Sometimes I cross post to TikTok. I don’t do YouTube.

I love this for our UGA 1L students!!!!

Teaching 1L contracts has been SUCH a joy this Fall, but could not have done it w/o support from our Dean! Today's Brooklyn Bridge hypo brought her into the class, and the students had a lot of fun figuring out whether they could revoke before she crossed the bridge. 😂 @ugaschooloflaw.bsky.social

Huge thanks to the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council for hosting me on 9/18 at the Union League of Philadelphia to present my talk, “The Law of Digital Resurrection.”

Great opportunity to explore how the law has not kept pace with AI’s impact on death, and to discuss proposals for reform.

My prediction, as an expert on death+law, is that Charlie Kirk will earn far more dead than he did alive—thru postmortem publicity rights.

The question is whether proper planning was done while he was alive to ensure that someone with the requisite sophistication is managing those publicity rights

So apparently the best time to go to Costco in Athens Georgia is during a UGA game.

If you are paid a bounty by the FBI for turning in a member of your family, YES, the bounty is taxable.

The IRS considers all forms of awards as taxable unless they are specifically exempted by law. If you are not employed as a bounty hunter, it will likely be included as miscellaneous income.

Bentham’s skeleton is bolted to his chair and so it takes three people to move him.

I want people to be able to run and skip and jump around the faculty meeting with my head. To feel free.

If my head stopped law faculty from talking, think of how in-demand a corpse head stick would become at all meetings.

My head could shift norms.
