I believe in a better world. Where people are put before money. Where we think about the legacy for the next generation Not the next election. We are not all born equal, But we, all things being equal, doors should be opened Not minds closed.

Reminder that this government needs to "tax wealth, not work" if we are to improve the economy.

Poor people spend on goods and services. This grows the economy.

Rich people buy your homes, your business, your working hours.

This from 6 years ago on the myths: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnoL...

I see their media team have been working overtime.

Hope they got paid for it (as long as it's not from that anonymous Cryptocurrency donation they just accepted...)
teq2.bsky.social
Reform just took the first Cryptocurrency donation in the UK. There's no clarity of source.

The UK is in danger of becoming like the US, where only money talks and the "pursuit of happiness" is relegated to a poor third place.

Isn't it about time we took the money OUT of politics by capping it?

"“Might move to Russia,” he added. (It’s a shame he has never enacted this promise)."
teq2.bsky.social
We seem to have moved to an era where whichever politician shouts loudest gets the most media attention.

This needs to stop.

Both the media and politicians need to take a severe course in adult-hood.

@privateeyenews.bsky.social in my Bluesky feed tonight. Coincidence, or do they know something we don't?
Cartoon from The Tennessee Holler showing Trump in a robber mask with a bag of swag, shouting "IT'S A WAR ZONE"... pointing to a couple sipping coffee outside a café with a Portland sign on the awning.

Second feed is an image of Farage pointing to immigrants on a boat. With a caption "Reform UK intends to withdraw our human rights"

The duopoly’s corporate coup over the UK via free zones and the likes of Blackrock is accelerating.
Don’t people understand why the MSM aren’t covering this?
Secondary legislation embedded in free zones means zero Parliamentary debate, zero public consultation, zero press notification!

The ECHR was Britain’s response to WW2 fascist regimes. With authoritarianism on the rise again, we’d be mad to give up the protections it provides. Tell your MP we won’t let that happen! actionstorm.org/petitions/pr...

Oh look...

This is what we can expect if we're ever daft enough to vote him in "as a protest"...

No thanks. I'd rather vote Green Party (who have a voting track record that actually aligns to their policies - which include a tax on extreme wealth).
teq2.bsky.social
However looking at some of his tweets on his web page, many of which are outright distortions of the truth (the Republicans have a voting majority, so it doesn't matter that the Democrats are voting against pay cuts), I'd agree with most of the opinions in previous comments as to his abilities...

The US has two houses, the House of Representatives (equivalent to our House of Commons) and the Senate. Both are elected. The Speaker of the House is more like the leader of the Conservative Party, a role here played by the Leader of the Opposition (or the PM when in power). /1

Seems @Nigel_Farage is trying damage limitation on the Reform Russian Bribes scandal.

He’s known Nathan Gill for 20 years, and claims he knew nothing.

No one believes you, Nigel.

Keep the story moving. Questions must be answered.

Does he benefit from having UK citizenship (if he has it, given he was born in Russia)?

If so, then, without something similar to the US tax on worldwide income, we're missing out on the £0.5-1m interest income per year per billion too.

Worthy of a page in @privateeyenews.bsky.social, exposing some of this week's daft headlines, and the real world behind them.

A pub “gone woke”, activist judges, a “revenge” plot by Ursula von der Leyen and a Lithuanian Ballerina personally trying to bring down Western Civilisation - this week’s headlines truly outdid themselves.

All in Bearly Newsworthy, the round-up of what happened in the news this week (or didn't).

We all need to teach ourselves the tricks - logical fallacies - that politicians use to fool us. They, and many RW podcasters, get taught how to debate in Private schools or self ed.

We need to know how to too.

Technically, the super-rich.

Anyone owning a £400,000 house thinks they're rich (because they think they will have to pay 40% IHT - they won't. Their inheritors MIGHT have to pay it, if they had no debts, on the 64,000 over the IHT limit, after they've got £364,000, tax free and unearned).

Yes, as tax payers, every £100 we spent went on providing the service. Now £80 goes to providing the service and £20 to shareholders...

(Obv. not exact figures. In the case of some Care Homes it's nearer £50).

You need to fix the root causes FIRST. Until that's done, people will commit crimes. Many of them need locking up for the good of society.

IDD better rehab is required. Privatisation is a factor.

Getting rid of jail sentences for protestors, on the other hand...
