When they tell you to shut up and just obey the Dear Leader's words, just remember...
And also "my gay daughter needs a job!"
My lil sister with IDD just called me and during went to tell my mom im seeing my college roommate and her husband tonight... pauses, out loud says "wait this is Teresas friend... Teresa do they have a husband or wife or spouse?" And then continued.

Obsessed with her
I audibly gasped when this was said because it was so sick hahaha
What I don't have in experience, I make up for in integrity.

And what Andrew Cuomo lacks in integrity, he could never make up for with experience.

As a historian, I can certify that we are in the bad times. But bad times eventually end.
In the meantime:
• Figure out a small way to help someone
• Figure out a small way to fight back
• Figure out a small place to find joy
• Figure out a small way to grow and thrive

And do it often.

“The military would never turn on its own people”

I’m from Philadelphia, a city where the police firebombed citizens.

They sent troops to Kent State in 1970. They sent troops to NYU last year.

I really need y’all to sit & examine what makes you think you were ever exempt from state violence.

‘As Deleuze and Guattari wrote fascism in the 1930s was not fundamentally a problem of ignorance: ‘The masses were not innocent dupes; at a certain point, under a certain set of conditions, they wanted fascism’’

That's on a #GarlickBLT (book launch tour)
Huge day for the PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS book launch tour. I'm on the local CBS today discussing why YOUR health care costs are so high and what lobbyists have to do with it. #GarlickBLT

Oncology nurse here.
Leucovorin is a drug critical to safe administration of life-saving cancer treatment (colon cancer, lymphoma, leukemia, toname a few). We've experienced very severe shortages in the past.

Please, just no.

Monarez: "Kennedy demanded 2 things of me that were were inconsistent w/ my oath of office. He directed me to commit in advance to approving every ACIP recommendation regardless of the scientific evidence. He also directed me to dismiss career officials responsible for vaccine policy without cause"
Lol why do 2 negative evaluations overshadow 30 positive ones
Your pie threw me through a minor loop bc pumpkin exists but I immediately calmed down and am on board - including the donut, as a vermonter who has access to farm fresh plain cider donuts (ik this is baked good privilege)

I don't know, can an AI doula massage your back during transition? Hold your hand? Hold your cup when you take a drink? Hold your hand to balance in yoga poses? Walk down the street to pick up dinner for you after delivery? Physically position your baby for breastfeeding?

I thought not.

I am having a hard time reconciling "Charlie Kirk was a fierce advocate of open dialogue and free expression" with "we must identify and persecute everyone who is insufficiently mournful"
After Charlie Kirk's death, teachers and professors nationwide fired or disciplined over social media posts
At least a dozen faculty and staff have faced fallout over insensitive comments online.

I was also so fortunate to have @garlicksauce.bsky.social present as part of the #GarlickBLT this week in Public Health Nursing!

J. Sotomayor dissent: "The Government, and now the concurrence, has all but declared that all Latinos, U. S. citizens or not, who work low wage jobs are fair game to be seized at any time, taken away from work, and held until they provide proof of their legal status to the agents’ satisfaction."
#BREAKING: With no explanation (save for a solo concurrence by Justice Kavanaugh), #SCOTUS has frozen lower-court rulings that had enjoined allegedly suspicion-less arrests as part of "roving" immigration patrols in California.

Justice Sotomayor, joined by Justices Kagan and Jackson, dissents:

TAPPER: Hepatitis A, whooping cough, & chickenpox cases are rising in Florida. Before you made this decision to lift vaccine mandates, did your dept do any analysis of how many new cases there will be?

LADAPO: Absolutely not

T: You didn't even do a projection?

L: It's an issue of right & wrong
