btw another belief that follows from my assumption that a vote is an act of trust is that i actually really dislike when people make arguments that sort of revolve around the idea that it's a technical act that no one should feel strong emotions around

i am a representative democracy fetishist, i believe there is an affirmative act of /trust/ that is performed when we imbue someone with a mandate via election. i do not really believe in the right of my neighbours to such mandates if nobody voted for them
