I have a sneaking suspicion that the title format extends beyond just Sunrise's robot shows, because titles like Uchuu senkan Yamato and Chiisana viking Bikke seem—seem, though I know very little Japanese—to conform to it.

(I say 'made easier' because I suspect there'd be theoretical solutions for these tasks in a physical animation camera. They'd just be either workarounds or *very* laborious.)

You can see them playing with things made easier by the digital workflow.

Like putting an outrageous number of grunt robots on screen, or having multiple animated displays and a digitally applied selective filter for the main view in the cockpit.
