Hey everybody, check out this unfortunately-titled children’s book I saw at the grocery store today
A monster-themed parody of Goodnight Moon titled Goodnight Goon: A Petrifying Parody by Michael Rex

Exactly, there’s a huge difference between “I’m an asshole and proud of it” and “I’m an asshole because I don’t have any patience for the world’s bullshit.”

there's nothing capitalists love more than gazing at the disastrous, inevitable wastelands created by capitalism and loudly blaming it on communism

All I’ve seen of it so far has been The Suicide Squad and first season of Peacemaker (also that Harley Quinn movie, not sure if it counts), and I enjoyed those more than anything Marvel’s done in nearly a decade.

That’s why I’ve never been too hot on him, I grew up on Carlin’s stuff all through the ‘90s and Burr has always just been another loudmouth wannabe who thinks casual racism and misogyny coupled with extreme cynicism is “speaking truth to power.”

“But how do The Fat Boys feel about trans rights?” What the hell do I care, one of them died from falling off a couch.

I just wanted to talk about the parallels between “Sun City” and the chodes who worked the Riyadh Comedy Festival, but apparently I can’t do that without discussing the sociopolitical views of Lou Reed and DJ Kool Herc first.

I apologize profusely for not prefacing a post about the song “Sun City” with an exhaustive breakdown of all the artists’ feelings on Palestine, I didn’t realize referencing Litte Steven Van Zandt meant I think he’s a saint or something like that.
thedanklark.bsky.social
Then don’t listen to it for chrissakes, what do you want from me? I wasn’t talking about Little Steven or Bono or any of the other washed up cunts on the song and how they feel about Palestine, I was talking about the parallels to the Riyadh Comedy Festival. Fucksake.

Like, he’s still not full on anti-Israel but he’s anti-Bibi and supports a two-state solution. It’s not a complete 180, but what do you expect from a guy in his 70s who wasn’t that bright to begin with?
thedanklark.bsky.social
You’re aware his stance has changed quite a bit in the almost 10 years since he said that, yeah?

If he just pulled a Krusty and admitted the real reason he was there, he could get on with his life.
Krusty the Clown after finally showing up at Kamp Krusty, admitting “They drove a dump truck full of money to my house. I’m not made of stone.”

Dude changes his reasons for working the show every time he’s in front of a mic, and they all come off racist and xenophobic as shit.

Not sure how many of you are old enough to remember this jam by Steven Van Zandt and Artists United Against Apartheid, but the parallels are obvious.

This clip is about “political correctness” but a lot of what Tompkins says applies to how comedians like Bill Burr and Omid Djalili are responding (poorly) to losing fans over playing Riyadh.
thedanklark.bsky.social
Pretty much, yeah. The excuses and justifications being offered by the likes of Djalili and Bill Burr are just an insult to our intelligence at this point.

I go back to my crackpipe comparison. Not every way of coping with disabilities is healthy, and not everything you use to cope is a legitimate aid.

( just noticing that all the people who rushed to tell us that we were over reacting about Jay have not resurfaced to do/ say anything about the banning of Link. The “freedom” and technology advocates have no real racial lens that treats us as people )

But, because there’s just no reasoning with some people, he just keeps doubling down and doubling down.

Dude’s whole thing is calling people “bigots” and “ableist pigs” because he wants to believe ChatGPT is a “disability aid” for dyslexia when it’s literally not meant for that nor should it be used that way. He’s even had other dyslexic people calling him a dumbass.
thedanklark.bsky.social
Must be rough having literally nobody on your side with this. Even your best friend and lover ChatGPT doesn’t have your back.
thedanklark.bsky.social
He’s either doing a bit, or he’s gonna shoot up a Walmart because ChatGPT told him to.
thedanklark.bsky.social
How many times did you shit your pants while ChatGPT wrote this idiotic novelette for you?
thedanklark.bsky.social
Oh, I get it. This is all a bit. You’re pretending to be a clueless, LLM-obsessed dipshit who thinks having ChatGPT incorrectly summarize books and news articles for you puts you shoulder to shoulder with Jesus.
