This is not hyperbole. You are mistaken if you think you can keep your head down and ride this out. The historical analogy is apt and we are running out of time. At there very least, I want my grandson to grow up knowing that at least I tried. What is your legacy going to be?

Dear American citizens, whatever you wish more German citizens would have done in 1933, do that now.

They problem is endemic in the modern Rep party at all levels, and they know it. A few hoods just accidentally slipped off, and now they are desperate to sweep this revealing incident under the rug. We shouldn't let them.

This. Anyone with eyes can see it coming. This is not a "call to arms". It is simply an observation that Trump thinks that chaos on the streets works to his favor and he and his admin are doing everything they can to provoke it. Humans, being what we are, means someone will eventually take the bait.

Trump and Miller will probably get the blood in the streets they want eventually. We don’t know when or how it will unfold, or how the public will come to perceive it. But we do know that no matter how it unfolds or is perceived, it is already their fault. All we can do is our best.
It'll Be Trump's Fault
Donald Trump created this unstable equilibrium; no matter how it breaks down, it will be his fault.

"Justice" Barrett shouldn't be a Justice at all.

This the conservative majority basically saying: "we reserve the right to rule against non-conservative interests in future cases in which attorneys apply the same legal reasoning in support of liberal policy objectives."

And, if using emotionally charged language inspires or provokes others to join me, more to the better.

I also believe that history will judge us by the actions we take or fail to take over the next few months, both as a people, but also as an individual by those who come after us. As for me, I want to be remembered by my grandson as someone who stood up and did what I could when it mattered.

Realistically, I doubt that will happen. Still, I think I am right in believing that the "hour is getting late" (as Dylan would say) and we are rapidly approaching the time when enough people need to stand up and say "NO" or accept a future where corrupt, lawless authoritarianism becomes the norm.

I have high hopes that it will produce enough of an out pouring of protest that the press and the politically disengaged will no longer be able to dismiss it (or just give the "story of the day treatment and move on".)

Be there and be part of history. Or don't be, and still be part of history, because history (as well as friends & family) will remember who stood up to Authoritarianism and who failed to.

Trump’s fraud stunt with the tariffs on China, cost the US economy $1.65 trillion, which was wiped out in seconds.

Yep. This is a timely reminder of just how corrupt and compromised Bondi is (and Trump, of course)

A good friend of mine who is also a Mariner fan sent me this during the game

The incessant demands from all these A/I products to allow them to "Help" me, along with fact that it is practically impossible to disable them, tells me that they are not at all about serving my interests, but rather about serving the interests of the tech companies that foist them upon us.

I stopped watching them long ago. The business model for CNN and most traditional media outlets that aren't FOX News is no longer viable. They know it and are still trying to thread the needle with Trump, but it won't work. They will continue to lose audience share and they deserve to.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that this is not really about whether cities are more or less livable. It's about the fact that urban areas tend to vote Dem and the GOP needs to come up with a justification for punishing and intimidating them for it. The actual argument is just a distraction.

Jeffries is not worthless. He's worse. His leadership has failed, and his tactics are counterproductive to the interests of his caucaus and constituency. Sadly, he is not alone. He and his ilk are like generals using the cavalry charge against an army using mechanized armor and drones.

Johnson is "all in" for Trump and Maga. He knows better, so I guess it's an "ends justify the means" thing which is often the final step to complete moral degradation. Is it any wonder that someone many despise his brand of Xtianty?
