I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

I’m as okay as you can be when you miss someone terribly. And I also take comfort in the fact that he didn’t want a prolonged decline, so regardless of how I feel about it, he had it in his terms.

LRT: my pops dying was very jarring. My mom was traumatic too, but I knew it was coming. It’s been five years since he passed and I still haven’t completely come out of the tail spin.
