I just don't know what do to. It's been years since I've needed him to help me and I've probably spent the last few helping him. But now it feels so strange to know I can never ask him another question or learn anything from his experiences.

I am so lucky to have had a father like him. He was scary when he was mad so it took a long time for me to come out to him. I finally did and he was so supportive of me and all the gay shit I got up to. He never made it to a live drag show I performed in but he showed the videos to everyone.

My dad always encouraged my love of Transformers. I was wearing the shirt that he gave me a few years ago for Xmas. There was nothing I could do so I tried to enjoy the weekend as best as I could. It didn't really work. It was hard to mask how broken I felt the rest of the time.

At the airport waiting to go home. The plane doesn't take off for 3 hours. I will have a lot to think about. I arrived in Chicago on Wednesday and things were going well. On Friday, while in line for TFCon, I found out my dad was in the hospital but they were unable to revive him and he died.

My mom got me into Trek when I was a kid and most Trek fans I know/ encounter are women. And the lead of my Star Trek show was a woman, as was the captain of the ship. So shut the fuck up.
