Allen V. Farrow is still available on HBO. I hope everyone who is - perhaps unknowingly - ignoring Diane Keaton's vocal disdain for CSA survivors (including pretty constant punches down on so-called "victim culture") will watch it.
Diane Keaton has spoken up in support of Woody Allen, stating that she believes the director’s defence against allegations of molestation made by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow. Keaton, who worked with Allen on a number films including Annie Hall and Manhattan, defended the director on Twitter, sharing a TV interview in which Allen dismissed the claims made against him. “Woody Allen is my friend and I continue to believe him. It might be of interest to take a look at the 60 Minute interview from 1992 and see what you think,” she wrote.

Also shown is an embed of the Tweet itself and the interview on YouTube

Keaton has been loyal to Allen since the resurfacing of those allegations, which he denies and that two investigations have dismissed. “I love Woody,” said Keaton in 2014, “and I believe my friend.” In his 2020 memoir, Allen described Keaton as his “north star”; the person whose opinion matters the most.

How did that make her feel? “Oh, my God,” she says, “do you know how much I owe everything to him? He was so amazing. It always was really special to be with Woody. He was great. He was everything, and he remains [so] to me. He gave me everything. He really did. Woody made it loose. That helped me enormously.”

There's a photo of the pair on set for something.

The multiple pop culture
“critics”—all women so far???—calling Keaton a feminist icon, talking about Annie Hall, sometimes even naming the director, then dropping that particular thread? Really shocking to me!
themerriest.bsky.social
I’m sorry, but to mention Annie Hall and not contextualize Woody Allen (or her long-standing defense of him) is mind boggling to me.

Sometimes I swear they’re posing.

Post you from a different era. (2005)
A younger me wearing a jean jacket and a high school ring, holding two packets of Sweet and Lo and emptying them into a large iced tea with a lemon on the rim, sitting in a booth in the smoking section (!) at House of Pies in Houston.

I told my husband I didn’t doomscroll this morning and in response my brain just generated it’s own doomscroll, then he told me that’s just called having thoughts??

I'm doing it right now.

It’s insane that she’s 35, I feel like the cultural perception of her is that she’s a child who needs to be protected from all critique.

Don’t worry, I find it very funny now. How did I have an accent for only one word? 😂
themerriest.bsky.social
A true thing about me is that I wrote my first poyim as a child in Texas and was so embarrassed about how I said the word that I didn’t say it for YEARS until I started my BFA program and would quietly say “poem” to myself over and over in my room.

got to ask @tricialockwood.bsky.social the important questions last night like for instance “is the worst way to pronounce poem with a y in the middle of the word”

Does this mean they’re in age gap relationships? I think the youngest Millennial is what, 29? College age girls are 18ish? Weird power dynamic there. (Or potential for one.)
