I'm not against anachronism. I don't vibe w/ historical accuracy pervs. But you need to do storytelling. Look at Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet. Every costume is part of world building AND drawing your eye in composition. Even if Cathy is a doll in a dollhouse, these dresses tell me nothing.

Emerald Fennell actually completely removes what's sensual, romantic, and raw from Wuthering Heights. The moors haven't come up in her interviews, not really in the trailers, and that's inexcusable. That wildness is crucial & is a replacement for open sensuality in the book.

I've dealt with food insecurity my entire life & it should be IMPOSSIBLE to be broke over food. The base level of support every person should get for being alive in a society should be enough that even if they order Outback Steakhouse delivery 3 times per day their entire life, they're fine. Idc.
