I use it because it’s an easy shorthand but I do not consider anyone who is in any way pro-capitalist a leftist because otherwise why have a different word than “liberal.”

part of why I hate the term "leftist" (even if i feel compelled to use it in certain contexts) is because a lot of people lump in SocDems and progressives but I do not believe people who want the same economic base as fascists and reactionaries are on the left in a elemental way
There are people that want to abolish economic class and there are people who dont. The people who do are what I consider to be the “left” regardless of the various ways they want to go about it. Everyone else defends the system of owners and workers and they are right wing reactionary freaks
