Susan Collins raised more money from AIPAC donors last year than small donors.

When we asked her campaign spokesperson about it, he hung up.

Susan Collins Is Getting More Money From AIPAC Than Small Donors
As oysterman Graham Platner handily outraises Republican Susan Collins, the pro-Israel lobby collected nearly 20% of her donations for her.

if the whole genocide thing wasn't enough for you, another good reason to get AIPAC money out of democratic politics is that the organization now exists to move republican donor money into democratic races to sow chaos and get the most republican-friendly democrat elected
Punchbowl has AOC quoted saying the same thing that I've been saying for the past few weeks re: AIPAC spending against pro-Israel Tom Malinowski.

“It’s quite shocking how moderate of a stance that they are mobilizing against. We’re not even talking about them targeting the left,” Ocasio-Cortez said
AIPAC’s first 2026 test
A Thursday special primary election will reveal whether Malinowski can survive a spending onslaught in a new era of anti-AIPAC sentiment among Dems.

I think this is a terrible misjudgment and I'm barely holding back a lot of harsher words right now.
NEW: Mayor Mamdani is set to endorse Gov. Hochul’s reelection run this week, providing her a critical inroad with progressive voters, per four sources.

It deals a near fatal blow to Antonio Delgado's campaign.

The endorsement, expected this week, gives Hochul a critical inroad with left-leaning voters.

“this is how I think communism should work instead” says the person who isn’t a communist, and 50 tweets later reveals they think communism is a utopian fantasy. Thank you for your contributions about something you don’t support and don’t think can exist using words you don’t understand. Helpful!

Also, I learned about Malört’s existence through the asoiaf fandom and had to look it up because I was curious why American liquor had a Swedish name (”malört” means ”wormwood” in Swedish).

I’ve had the Swedish equivalent btw, it’s interesting for sure. But I don’t dislike it exactly!

Since @notacast.bsky.social and @manucleardevice.bsky.social mentioned Malört in their latest Dunk & Egg episode, I just gotta contribute the fun fact that Malört is based on a traditional Swedish liquor (brought to the US by a Swedish immigrant).

these are death camps
there will be no functional clinical facilities, and barebones staffing means that medical checks will be few and far between. medications will not be dispensed properly. disease will spread unchecked. there will be no place for people to meet with their lawyers. there will be no phone calls.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

I got in SO MUCH trouble for this hugely viral tweet back in 2018 (from MAGA types mostly) but I stand by it (and in fact at the time the Auschwitz Museum defended me when people yelled at me that Auschwitz was a “death camp” not a concentration camp). My DENTIST congratulated me for this one

The myth that centrists have either open minds or consistent politics with mass appeal comes more from buying into their own self image than empirical observations over the course of a period of time. Not every mean is golden.

individual newsletters also don’t have the infrastructure for the more investigative journalism that risks lawsuits so we lose that when we tell people essentially to start a blog instead of having a robust newsroom with resources!!!

This whole thing where billionaires snap up media properties so they can run them into the ground to make it harder for people to call them and their cronies to account is extremely obvious and very tiresome. It also limits our access to largr information about culture and the world, also by design.

Gotta love the people who use the phrase "purity test" negatively because there's no non-evil way to describe the atrocities they're willing to ignore for their own sake.

extremely infuriating when the fall of the Soviet Union which left millions in destitution directly ties to the large amounts of Eastern European women and girls who were trafficked in Epstein’s network
