i didn't hate the rfk jr article. I get why people are fed up with that type of profile generally but the upshot of it is very clear that he is a crackpot who can't be swayed by contrary information and projects his own flaws on to anyone who disagrees with him.

You know how there are some historical reenactment museum areas where you can go and see people dressed old timey churning butter and making horseshoes? There should be one that's a bar and kids can go listen to reenactors complain about their city's sports teams from different decades

if you aren't baking the rolls yourself how are they are integral to your thanksgiving table? roll loyalty also sounds regional because i don't know anyone from the northeast that is attached to rolls. a lot of musts are regional/cultural tbh and growing up jewish anything with dairy was out anyway.

I think this is unfair to turkey. turkey is good but hard to cook well because it is so damn big. turkey *parts* are great but lack the esthetic appeal of a centerpiece bird.
it is tired to the point of cliche to say if turkey was good, people would make it more than once a year. but it is understated that at least one American explodes every Thanksgiving in a brave attempt to make the main dish more palatable
