Many writers don't need to pretend that they make their money from the book; they do make their money from the books.

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Just heard back from the library about my request for a copy of kalivas or another tempest by nick mamatas. Apparently they have a form on the website and I am not supposed to be submitting requests by sticking them to the front door with a hunting knife. Who knew?! Technology really is a miracle!

My soon to be 12 year old niece just showed me this animated cartoon she’s really into (she went as one of the characters for Halloween) and it’s pretty cool but I’m like “wow this is a little bleak” and looked it up and apparently it’s based on Harlan Ellison’s “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream”

The most absurd part of the current controversy over military orders are all the right-wingers saying "Buh...WHUT illegal orders?!" between explosions of small fishing boats that mayyyyy (what, me worry?) have drugs on them or may have just had fishermen on them.
