I back this no bright headlights initiative and add no bluetooth speakers on float trips. No one made you DJ of the river!

i will vote for anybody who fixes the headlight brightness situation

“One of the negative consequences AI is having on students is that it is hurting their ability to develop meaningful relationships with teachers, the report finds. Half of the students agree that using AI in class makes them feel less connected to their teachers.”
Rising Use of AI in Schools Comes With Big Downsides for Students
A report by the Center for Democracy and Technology looks at teachers' and students' experiences with the technology.

This is what every Democratic state needs to do, tell its state university leaders that they will lose all state appropriations if they sign the compact. Take the decision out of feckless college administrators’ hands.
mkirschenbaum.bsky.social
Virginia State Senate Dems just brought down fire and fury regarding the “Compact,” notifying the President and Rector that UVA would lose ALL STATE APPROPRIATIONS if it signs and cedes the University to “federal political control.” Notably, their letter directly restates points made here by @siva.
sivav.bsky.social
The “compact” for higher ed is an unserious document written by unserious people from a position of spectacular ignorance. No one should take it seriously. Sadly, my bosses are taking it seriously.

The White House Antifa Roundtable is one of the best displays I’ve seen of this-is-how-bad-it’s-gotten — just a sewer of open fascism, dementia, morons and freaks, and incoherent rage.

So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

Hopefully this’ll change soon, but I’m not finding October very spooktacular yet.

I’ve been mostly avoiding any video of Trump for quite a while, but just saw some from the other day and holy shit! He’s declined so rapidly. Not that he wasn’t substantially oatmeal-brained this time last year, but now he’s 10x more of a babbling, mumbling old shit-demon. Amazing (derogatory)!

Got a recent Pulitzer for warning on the spread of autocracy around the globe, after decades of service to the paper? You can bet your butt you're getting laid off by form email, on Yom Kippur

The Post laid off seemingly the remaining of their liberal-leaning staff members on Opinion last Thursday, when some of them were observing Yom Kippur.

I’m not intimating shit, I’m saying he should be honest with his brutalized citizens about the help he can / will give and not give. “We’re stopping them” is bullshit when Texas just landed troops in Illinois. Describe the situation frankly? Great! Brag about help not actually being offered Nope!
chirp0403.bsky.social
You realize you’re intimating civil war which is exactly what Trump and Miller are hoping for. Don’t forget the feds have more money and resources than states.
billcorbett.bsky.social
The point is, don’t say you’re stopping them if you actually can’t! Pretty simple. And certainly don’t let your state troopers HELP them.
okiedharmabum.bsky.social
Trump has "federalized" 300 Illinois National Guard in addition to Texas arrivals. One of the managers at my local food co-op downstate was just called up this week. For all I know, he's as much of a vegan pacifist as the next guy. Pritzker could order up MORE National Guard and what then?
billcorbett.bsky.social
Hm it’s fine to edit your own work, but not other people’s. (Unless they ask.)
billcorbett.bsky.social
Are you stopping them? Doesn’t look like it.

Analysis is 100% right but it’s important not to blow smoke when your citizens are getting brutalized. Maybe all the people saying the governor has no legit way of actually stopping them are correct! But if you can’t, then don’t claim you are.

Pritzker: "I think it's important to recognize that the Trump administration does not seem to respect any laws in the United States. They just do what they want to do and they'll keep doing it unless someone stops them. Here in Illinois we're stopping them."

I love living in a city full of immigrants and tons and tons of people who are not at all like me and not like each other. It makes us all better and it makes our city better. I know I’m preaching to the choir by saying this on the lib app but I sometimes just get so overwhelmed by how special it is
