DHS should be embarrassed that their ICE agent hires are so soft they can’t handle being videotaped, even while masked, so they resort to pepper spraying women at close range.

And we should be proud of the Santa Barbara women who stood their ground anyway.

It’s very bad. Do you know anyone high up in Minnesota state government who could do something about this?
They’re taking kids from Minnesota and sending them to detention camps. They’re shooting American citizens in the street and locking investigators out of the crime scenes. The world is watching what happens next.
Hundreds of people spelled out the distress signal "SOS" on Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis on Friday, Jan. 30.

And most of the major media did not take it as seriously as they should have because they were also often ridiculed by Gawker etc. An entire century thus far of reactionary politics from people getting owned online.
we said all along that they wanted Gawker dead not because we embarrassed a pro wrestler but because the Epstein story is one Gawker was covering a decade before most other people caught up & was just one of many stories exposing powerful people and their misdeeds
Among the batch of newly released emails from Jeffrey Epstein: Epstein telling Peter Thiel he would “gladly share…expenses for the Gawker suit.”

This was sent the day after @rmac.bsky.social and @mattdrange.bsky.social reported in Forbes that Thiel was behind the lawsuit that would bankrupt Gawker

“It’s worse than people think,” said attorney Eric Lee, who tried to visit clients at Dilley on Saturday. “The water is putrid. They have to mix baby formula with water that nobody wants to even smell. The food has bugs in it. The food has dirt in it.”

Bad take for a number of reasons, as people who protested against Israel’s genocide could tell him—though iirc Will never took to the streets over that issue so maybe he missed what happened
I don’t think this is a particularly hot take. As we keep telling a particular federal agency, wearing a mask generally indicates cognizance of guilt and an intent to do something illegal. Protest works best when done confidently and unashamedly
An entire generation of people raised on social media simply do not have an understanding of how the media, protests, and surveillance work.

My hottest take is that masks at protests are cowardly and have done absolutely nothing but make all protests themselves look unserious to neutral parties.

Interesting little exchange between Epstein and Steve Sinofsky about Prince Andrew visiting Silicon Valley in June 2013 and checking out Andreessen-Horowitz

Later in the month, the prince's assistant follows up with Sinofsky to thank him for the meeting Epstein facilitated

seeing a lot of this from some of my least favorite people on here for sure
Dipshits on Bluesky: What do you expect? Dems are in the minority and have no power!

Me: They currently have the power to shut down the government and extract real concessions.

Dipshits: No, just give the Dems money so they can keep giving Trump everything he wants.

Eoin Higgins recently pointed out in an interview with the Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman that today’s technogarchs “don’t think that they owe anybody anything, they don’t appreciate that they live in a society.”
What happens to the art market when humanity stops mattering?
In a world now governed by force—as US president Donald Trump and his circle would have it—rather than shared values, art risks being relegated to a power play of ‘proven brands’

It’s Time for Concrete Action on ICE. Sadly, We Have the Democrats.
Democrats have offered cussing and scolding after the killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. We need a real plan of attack, now.

And I believe this moment calls for grit, resilience, and faith in each other.

I believe we must stand up for what’s right. And fix what’s wrong.

at the same time, Homan is leaving a lot of wiggle room to continue the operation or even escalate
Reading between the lines of Homan's reprehensible gangsterism, Trump is trying to find a way to withdraw and save face.
