An affront to so many things, but fundamentally to the idea that human progress is in any way inevitable. Even the most obvious gains, even the most morally clear public goods, must be fought for and preserved.

this project is so intertwined with reestablishing male "dominion" thru subjugation of women and children, and hand in hand with the material prevention of transition as part of the violent policing of gender norms and "sex-based" roles.
from the time i’ve spent so far making @illconceivedpodcast.com, it’s very clear to me that the right sees immigration as a moral harm and that they intend to bring about economic conditions that will force “real” (white) americans to have more children. you can’t fight this vision piecemeal

Part of the problem is that liberal media keeps pretending that the right has “intellectual standards” when the rights idea of intellectual standards is RFK “I Like Bathing In Sewage” Jr being in charge of all of America’s health.

It sounds like NYC DSA and Mamdani have decided to play an inside game and if that extends to support for Hochul in the lead up to her primary to get a good budget this year, you should know that she did this on child care in 2022 and then screwed us every year after she won.

Putting New York before everyone else is his job but this position is to the detriment of Congress being able to ever pass meaningful policy to improve people's lives at the federal level.

Already seeing really nasty posts not show solidarity to other cities and imply they could have gotten out of immense pain and harm if their mayors and governors "just did what Mamdani did" and "just played the game."

Every time I see a study trying to use AI to improve early childhood development it seems designed as a desperate wish for AI to be useful to a field where it has no practical application and likely never will. Secondarily, a grasp for funding in the over-funded shiny object of optimizing childhood.
