I think a lot about Chappell Roan refusing to give an endorsement to Kamala Harris because of the genocide and for failing to stand up for trans rights and how the response was “wow isn’t she dumb” instead of “this is a sign we’re losing support amongst the young progressive base we need to win”

Every year i do a headcount of how many black students I’ve had in my classes. My average is usually between 60-80 kids a quarter and I’ve never once hit two digits

Ive only ever had 1… maybe 2-3 tops immediate black coworkers who were women at the assorted jobs ive had (and only 1 ever in teaching comics).

The article mentions that they brought up the Brooke Shields underage ads. I had heard and read that happened with Shields ( through stuff about 70’s movies, wasn’t looking) but I didn’t see them til SVA where they were played several times in classes so maybe there were signs
