We’re not dealing with brilliant strategists cleverly laying traps, we’re dealing with impulsive whiners whose advantage is contempt for laws, norms, and morality.

They’re not pulling some elaborate trick, they’re just willing—even eager—to do things regular, principled people consider off limits.

I will never ever eat anything at your home, but I’m glad you’re happy 😤😤😤😤

Sometimes you’re browsing your feed when suddenly you see someones collection of perfectly preserved seasonal specialty J. Wellington Wimpy style hamburgers for no reason and y’know what? Good. Everything is malaise so let folks find their happiness wherever they gotta. It ain’t hurtin’ nobody lol ❤️

Halloween! Nightmare King! Ghost! Ghost Pepper! Wednesday! And now the Jack-O-Lantern Whopper. I'm the only person in the world with a complete collection of Burger King's Halloween Whoppers, dating as far back as 2015. Can't believe I'm single.
Every Burger King Halloween Whopper, from 2015 to now. (Why though?)

they also really don't like being confronted with the question of where they draw the line. Once they sacrifice trans people, do they also sacrifice cis queers? Homeless people (free space on the bingo card)? Muslims and Jews? Black folks?

Yep. What they *always* mean is "I don't think your life is important enough to care about, and I don't like being confronted with that fact, so I'm gonna make it sound like *your* problem"

At this point im starting to wonder if hearing the words “purity test” are a dogwhistle because the most shit opinions in the universe will almost always immediately follow it

Purity tests as a term initially meant that people were arguing over specific semantics. Now it's been co-opted like the term "woke".

We don't have to throw trans people under the bus in order to save this country. We can find another candidate.

Also, the way to not "die on that hill" is to be united. These folks who want to jettison trans folks, immigrants, Black folks, etc. are so short sighted they think it'd be a victory to die a couple steps later, when choosing solidarity is actually choosing to not die at all
jongraywb.bsky.social
If you are willing to throw away entire groups of people to protect your insular strategy that will only protect you instead of protecting everyone then I don’t want your leaders and I sure as hell don’t want to be associated with you.
talleststone.bsky.social
I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

NeoLiberals use the phrase “purity test” as a dog whistle for bigotry and open hatred for those seen as a threat to their power and influence.

My friends 💔,
We live in a tent after losing everything... home, safety, and even warmth.
Every day we struggle for food, medicine, and shelter.

Your donation and participation could save our lives and restore hope to my family. 🕊️🙏

This is how liberals want to use our identities; to advance harm. And exactly why I say representation in film being a person who looks like me is fine. But representation in politics is only and exclusively someone who either shares or will fight to advance my values, like Less Harm.

A useful illustration of the limits of liberal identity politics.
It's astounding to see self-described progressives lose their minds over the successes of a Jewish female entrepreneur and intellect in @bariweiss, and a wildly successful Black man in @VanJones68. I guess equity, diversity, and inclusion don't mean as much as they've told us.

The thing is our society has been turning majority black neighborhoods into environmental assaults for so long that I am not sure "the emissions didn't change that much" is really a "defense" even if factually true...

If you want your liberal ass politician voted for, they have to be unwilling to throw marginalized people away. That's the bare fucking minimum. And these parties are failing so bad at this in so many countries right now.

And like, it won't work. The GOP called fuckin' BIDEN a radical communist, they ran ads saying "She's for They/Them" about Harris. Obama was 'tough on the boarder' to try and get the GOP to like him and they STILL hated him.

Compromising on other people's rights just won't work. They'll just lie.

You save everyone or save no one. Either nobody is expendable or everyone is.

This isn’t a purity test, it’s basic human decency.

If they start throwing one group of people under the bus, they’ll throw others if asked to, because THOSE are the kind of people they want to appease.

it's definitely a dog whistle because I only see complaints about "purity tests" when it's about supporting marginalized people

All of us or none of us. I dont want people making decisions for the country of they're willing to sacrifice people for political expediency.

If these losers can't get there for selfless reasons, you'd think selfishly they'd grasp who's to say they won't be next to be on the altar of expediency?

Same thing they did with chemical processing plants, and waste disposal in it an neighborhoods. Hmthey seek out poor black folks because people will listen to them the least. Poor people are always a target, but black and poor makes you more expendable to the rich.

So I found this...

I also found something more recent republished on Space.com from The Conversation (never heard of it, politics/mission unclear from cursory skim) that argues the excess turbines are not that much more air pollution...
A billionaire, an AI supercomputer, toxic emissions and a Memphis community that did nothing wrong • Tennessee Lookout
Billionaire Elon Musk's development of a supercomputer in Memphis is another environmental blow to a marginalized Black community.

Not entirely sure. I have to do some reading on it, but that was my train of thought going off of memory.

And if you say that this will help Bessemer than why be so incredibly secretive about it and not tell anybody what’s going on with it

The math aint mathin
jongraywb.bsky.social
So why be so eager and secretive to put this in a black neighborhood that nobody wants to fix up or help? The only thing in Bessemer is the waterpark that barely anybody goes to except for the summer so make it make sense
jongraywb.bsky.social
Why not put this in Hoover? Why not put this in Vestavia Hills? Why not put this in Mountain Brook?

Those three cities have a known history of taking stuff from Birmingham or outright separating themselves wholesale from the blacker parts of the city wholesale
