The Jazz programme will be opened by Music of the Night, an experimental trio consisting of two veteran jazz musicians and a younger experimental sound artist. Together they shape a musical language with elements of traditional jazz, free improvisation, textural ambiences and musical drones. Though newly formed as a group, the members share a long history of collaboration in different constellations. Mads Vadsholt and Kaspar Vadsholt performed together at Music.Games—a celebration of game music at VEGA in spring 2025—while trumpeter Flemming Agerskov and Kaspar Vadsholt have been long-standing collaborators in DR’s Big Band.

Mads Vadsholt has worked with sound design and composition on various animated films and games such as Miniatures, Death Howl, The Forest Quartet, Solar Walk (directed by Réka Bucsi), and Symbiosis (directed by Nadja Andrasev), among others. He has developed his own distinct sound universe, using a variety of techniques to create rich atmospheres, odd rhythms, and sensory microsounds. His composition style is minimalist and ambient, drawing comparisons to artists such as Terry Riley and Brian Eno. He works with Synthesizers, Samplers and found material.

Kaspar Vadsholt is a distinguished Danish jazz double bassist, recognized for his refined technique and deep musical sensibility. He contributes to the rhythmic foundation of the DR Big Band alongside prominent colleagues in the rhythm section. Also a member of various Danish jazz and classical projects, including artists and groups like Bentzon Brotherhood, Sinne Eeg, Peter Rosendal, Claus Waidtløw Quartet, among many others. Kaspar has been an active part of the Danish jazz scene since the early 90’s. In 2019 Kaspar Vadsholt formed his own band Nice Chair. He also composed and arranged the musical score for the critically acclaimed video game, The Forest Quartet.

Flemming Agerskov is known as one of Scandinavia’s most lyrical and melodic instrumentalists. Recognized as a trumpet player who is capable of playing with a warm sonority and always seeking his own melodic lines in the different languages of improvised music. In particular his dark and airy sound on flugelhorn is a voice which enhances meditative and spatial elements of music. Although playing jazz and improvised music, Agerskov has been associated a lot with a nordic sound approach to trumpet playing due to simplicity and transparency in his improvisations. The norwegian jazz critic Jan Granlie has compared him with british/canadian trumpet player Kenny Wheeler. He has, however, played in a broad variety of styles from freejazz and electronic groups as well as recording with many pop/rock groups. Among them the CV Jørgensen Band from 1994 – 2003.

we used Madou Futo Maru Gothic for our taiwanese game but it's a japanese font and I think it covers quite a bit of kanji and that's nice. it's often hard to find japanese fonts with all the writing systems (esp with kanji) but you can also look for more with keywords like ドットフォント, ピクセルフォント + 日本語
