Okay off topic but a fun fact is I was in band in middle school and we were learning a polka and in English we all to memorize and recite The Raven and I realized the meter fit that polka exactly and to this day when I read that poem I can only read it in that exact cadence

Also she started crying a little while singing California and as a transplant to California from a very similar part of the country I also started crying a little too and we both crode (it was my 3rd time crying in total through her set lmao)

I was about to mention it because I 100% interpret Gilda as a story that’s, in part, about toxic bearding. Johnny and Ballin both use Gilda to beard because they’re very obviously in love with each other.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this!! Idk how much it helps but I’ve been through similar—my first wlw relationship, she eventually told me that she never really had feelings and only liked me as a friend despite dating me for 7 months. It SUCKED and made me feel like absolute shit about myself
