Look at it this way: You bought a questionable old KLR650 in need of attention before you risk your life riding it in traffic. You've done a bang-up job of complicating your own life. Who needs fictional characters? This is a great plot, you're the protagonist, and Sophie is the loyal sidekick.

Clanky? Sounded like a modern boxer, to me. I didn't notice anything unexpected. It's a large-displacement twin, with the nature that comes with that, but it feels quite refined.

The KLX300SM feels like just the right motorcycle for the short ride to the summit on the narrow, tightly winding road. This section is one of the more open parts of the road. Anything more than the little supermoto feels too big.

Last ride of the year for the 1997 Triumph Speed Triple, mainly to run some fuel stabilizer through it. Due to seniority (and a dodgy thermostat) it has earned time off during winter, while younger motorcycles get the harsh duty. Off to its nap now.

Yeah, I think you basically have to be a pro-level racer to really take advantage of this. And possibly have a pro-level analyst looking at your data to help you figure it out. But for the Walter Mitty would-be pro-level racers, it could be a selling point, I suppose.

It's not even functional on the road. Only can be used on tracks mapped by Aprilia. Which you'd know if you read it before commenting on it.
