This.

These white whiny Wonder Bread & Mayonnaise crybabies are lazy MFs. If they imagine themselves to be comedic royalty they should know that you won’t keep the crown by repeating your Greatest Hits from ten years ago.

Carlin and Pryor are timeless because they put the work in to stay relevant.

ANNIE HALL is a sly subversion of the standard Hollywood rom-com tropes in that Allen’s character loses Annie because she grows and evolves into a different person during the course of their relationship while Allen stays in the same place emotionally. Woody Allen was never that honest again.

ANNIE HALL is my favorite Woody Allen movie because there’s a smart, infectious playfulness and authenticity that just isn’t present in the movies that came afterwards. This movie brought out the best in Allen because Diane Keaton’s brilliant performance demanded nothing less.

“Slowing down isn't something I relate to at all. The goal is to continue in good and bad, all of it. To continue to express myself, particularly. To feel the world. To explore. To be with people. To take things far. To risk. To love. I just want to know more and see more."

“The rage of someone who continues to strive so hard and work so hard but is interrupted every day by society, by racism, by white supremacy, by the patriarchy - how can you not feel empathy?”

Yes, I think this is right. Shame is complex. It often backfires. But it was undeniably a force in helping me shed the conservatism I was raised with.

The Necessity of Shame
Shame is dangerous, yes. That doesn’t mean it’s dispensable.

People are confusing their own tedious self-importance with effectiveness.

The animal costumes are a genius move. It should be adopted by every protest.

This video is everywhere because it's a hilarious visual refutation of Portland being on fire. You can't get a mass movement going without convincing the masses

so yes, this does do something actually

This literally does nothing. You are not beating fascism by dressing up in inflatable suits and dancing

Portland is leading the way. This is how you (non violently) beat Fascism. Humor and ridicule are key.

You’re welcome. I’m hoping that the truckloads of money Hollywood is tossing in his direction won’t corrupt his vision.

I didn’t know but I give Davidson credit for owning up to what he did although it exposes him as an awful human being. It’s not as loathsome as, let’s say, Bill Burr’s lame-ass excuses for attempting to justify his decision.

I recommend Josh Johnson. The brother gots skills.

These comedians might as well tattoo a dollar sign on their foreheads.

Maya Angelou said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them, the first time.” Every comedian who accepted the blood money from the Saudis deserve whatever blowback they’re getting. No matter how much money they got, they’ll never be able to buy their reputation back.

Some comics become bitter when the world moves on and they don’t have the ability or the courage to adapt. Dave Chappell disappointed me because there was a time when I thought he might be this generation’s Richard Pryor. Now? He’s just a hack telling hateful jokes about the transgender community.

Ali Wong tells a story about how another comic said to her, “It’s easier for you because you’re a woman and Asian. It’s harder for white guys.” Wong replied , “Be a better white guy.” I think Comedy is the hardest gig in show business and the folks who don’t evolve, go extinct.

I wish at least one of these sellouts would be honest enough to say, “We did it because we’re greedy bastards so fuck you.”

I cannot tell you how glad I’ll be when Trump is finally gone and isn’t sucking the oxygen out of the room wherever he is ALL THE DAMNED TIME.

It makes me smile knowing Donnie will NEVER be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize and that cold hard truth is driving him CRAZY.

(No, “we” aren’t that stupid. We know who’s that stupid but we can’t say so because it hurts their feelings)

The subtext being, of course, that a woman couldn’t have possibly won it on her own merits.
