I can take an absolutely killer photo of a hummingbird in flight now, because once upon a time I couldn’t and spend much of COVID lockdown hanging out in my local parks practicing. No tripod, all-manual settings. No machine can give or replicate that skill. Only practice.

I just spent a week wrestling through a WIP chapter that was fighting me the entire way, but it was only through doing so that a character arrived at a COMPLETELY different place than I expected, and one which improves the story immensely!

Reading this anecdote and begging, BEGGING people who are not in creative fields to wrap their brains around the fact that figuring one's way through those stuck transitions *IS THE FUN PART*.
