Still bowling ever more gentle outswingers, still think I'll magically develop an inswinger after trying for 40 years. Cricket, politics, gaming, gambling, often in combination.

FUN FACT: 'queue' is an anagram of 'queen', but only if you turn the n upside down. In professional circles, we call this an 'auagram'. #funfact

What's happened to Alyssa Healy's keeping? She's never been the tidiest, but you don't usually notice her.

She's been really scrappy the last few games.

Secret to a happy marriage - 2 single duvets. No fighting over the duvet, and you can even have different tog ratings.

Boring, but very very true.
I grew up in Portugal, speak it pretty well, with a local accent.

But I don't look Portuguese, too tall, blue eyes. This causes some to lose the ability to understand me, because obvs a foreigner can't speak the language.

I find a sotto voce frustrated swear often leads to sudden understanding.

File w/Jerry Lee Lewis Live at the Star Club under Early Rockers Giving Serious Dischord Vibes
Before Dylan's cry of "play fucking loud" was Buddy Holly's speed metal howl. On January 26, 1958, Holly and the Crickets made their second Ed Sullivan appearance. Sullivan ordered the group to replace upbeat rocker Oh Boy with a slow ballad. This was their response youtu.be/TtIOy9WcxU0?...

If England lose by 1 run due to an awful umpiring call that robbed them of a leg-bye will the ICC finally wake up and sort out the regulations? #EngvInd

This is a marvellous evisceration of ‘Quisling traitor’ Gubby Allen. I’ve just read it out loud to my portrait of Douglas Jardine and he thoroughly approved.
After his playing career was over, Gubby Allen assumed an almost dictatorial control over English cricket, from the 1940s until the late 1960s. His pomposity and prejudice shaped the route taken by the sport, and the careers of several players, not always for the better.

It's Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition for younger son. 4 hours in a minibus and then camping for 3 days. Thank god he'll be in Wales, not anywhere near London.
We finished it and rewatched Rogue One to complete the story as it were. I loved the film when it came out, easily the best since Empire.
It was worthwhile, and fascinating how the series reverse integrated later events.
But the film really suffers in comparison. Andor is just so much better.

My wife, both sisters-in-law, and one brother were all not born in the UK; all British from birth. Nearly half my British cousins were born abroad.

This sort of figure is just bullshit.

The Screaming Blue Messiahs need a mention.

"Don't Be a Sucker" by the US War Department (1947)

The film follows a young American, drawn in by a speaker promising an end to jobs for minorities and removing foreigners. He encounters a Hungarian professor who explains this is how Nazis grab power for themselves.

Very good, but better if you knew gouda pronounce it.
Yes we're second. The gap in WT20I's is, on the rankings, not too bad - we're 17 pts behind Aus, and 19 pts ahead of Ind in 3rd.

In WODI's Lewis leaves the women 44 points behind Aus. For context, that's exactly the gap between Eng and SL in 8th.

That's a hell of a way to go to catch up.
I think I'm a little in love with Glenn Phillips #championstrophy #nzvind
Another Jon Lewis team weak in the field and subsiding meekly to loss after loss.

Surely someone will notice eventually?
McCullum interview included this:

"...rather than suffocate yourself with this pressure of trying to do the right thing or perform or try to win."

Seems we're doing pretty well at the doing the wrong thing, and not trying to perform or win.

I assume winning will somehow choose us one day.
