UPDATE: In emailed statement to me / @reason.com, DHS alleges that WGN-TV producer Debbie Brockman "threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer."

“U.S. Border Patrol was conducting immigration enforcement operations and when several violent agitators used their vehicles to block in agents in an effort to impede and assault federal officers. In fear of public safety and of law enforcement, officers used their service vehicle to strike a suspect’s vehicle and create an opening. As agents were driving, Deborah Brockman, a U.S. citizen, threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer.

“This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of illegal aliens violently resisting arrest and agitators and criminals ramming cars into our law enforcement officers. These attacks highlight the dangers our law enforcement officers face daily—all while receiving no pay thanks to the Democrats’ government shutdown.”

He’s furious with me for taking him to the vet but he keeps sneezing a mass out of his freaking nose so this dude has his own sinus surgeon now and I cannot wait to find out what that’s going to cost me

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

Ugh I’m so sorry! Poor girl she must be so uncomfortable. I really hope she can keep the meds down soon. It might be worth seeing if the vet has a syringe liquid option…sometimes cats just hate pills and don’t want to take them

Did the vet mention anything about broth? If it doesn’t have a strong taste and you can get her to drink a little in could try that too. Tuna water has also worked on my tiny diva

It’s so hard!!! They can be so wiggly too 😭 if it helps, when I drop the pill my fingers are genuinely way back in their throats - when I started pilling them I thought they’d gag but it seems to be a lot easier for them. I do get bitten a fair amount if they want to make a statement

Depending on the type of pill it may be safe to grind it up in their food but I don’t really recommend that bc you can’t ensure they get the full dosage correctly, but it can do in a pinch if you just need to get stuff started in a really low stress way

If they spit a pill out I just do it again. There is one that tastes really bad so when I do it I place one finger on the bottom of his chin and gently give him a chin scratch to help him swallow and not spit it out

My cats take 7+ pills a day now and I have been pilling them for 9 years. My fail safe technique is you put them in your legs with their head against your knees. Open their mouth with one hand and just toss the pills down their throat
