Btw if you’re from the Portland area and haven’t seen Reds or read up on John Reed and Louise Bryant you should. John Reed was from here (fun fact, he’s one of only 5 Americans buried at the Kremlin) and both were crucial in early 20th century American leftist politics.

There are so many Diane Keaton performances to remember, but a lot of people haven't seen Reds, and A) my God, see it, it is a masterpiece and B) her performance as Louise Bryant is one of the bravest, toughest, least sympathy-courting pieces of work by an American actress in the last 50 years.

I’m conflicted about Diane Keaton’s death because she did a lot of things for second wave feminism but man she dropped the ball in the last few years by not believing Dylan Farrow. There’s so many artists I’m now disgusted with for continuing to work with Woody Allen.
