I never really knew how to label my sexual orientation because I’ve always felt different when it came to that. I don’t quite fit into the usual boxes, but apparently I have a demisexual orientation with a bisexual identity and a heteroromantic preference.

So yes, when I graduate in December, I’ll be a Doctor… Doctor of Nursing. And I’ll be damned if anyone tries to shame me for using the title I worked hard to earn.

The word doctor comes from the Latin docēre, meaning “to teach.” It was first used for scholars who earned the highest degrees at universities. Medical doctors came later, once medicine became an academic discipline. Doctorate came first.

It’s okay to recognize & respect both.

A 17 yr old teen saved his 5 yr old sister from a dangerous waterway in Florida yesterday & the deputy’s bodycam captured the rescue. Shout out to the teen! 🫶🏾 Ppl called for help & by the time deputy arrived, he had already jumped in to save her. Both are safe and unharmed. 🥹🙏🏽
