It's what ppl w/ power often do in storytelling: explain poverty & disadvantage.

This happens to me every year. I go to Wegman's for a specific type of meat. Then I mistakenly think I can get everything on my list and then get pissed at myself for forgetting that Wegman's aisles always disappoint me.

A fun fact that I just learned that astounded me: an adult moose can grow to be taller than most NBA players (6'11), not counting its antlers.
