YouTube has opened up a “second chance” program to allow previously banned creators spreading misinformation about COVID and elections to create new channels, after facing pressure from Congress.

Valitettavasti nyt on niin, että suomalainen kulttuuri tekee miinusta. Niinpä on vain järkevää ajaa alas suomen kielen, taiteen ja historian opetus, tutkimus ja harjoitus - ja myydä Suomi Venäjälle. Hipit ja vassarit ulisee. Mutta faktat on faktoja.

Toki on hyvä, jos taloustieteilijät(kin) heräävät vajavaisuuteensa ja vääristymiinsä. Ko. kuvauksesta saa kuitenkin myös toisenlaisen kuvan; varsin tahmea julkaisuprosessi on ollut. Harvat tietysti pystyvät rakentavaan itsekritiikkiin. Mutta ehkä taloustieteilijöillä on erityinen syy katsoa peiliin.

Tutkimus vaikuttaa erinomaiselta - vaikka tulosta ei voikaan pitää yllättävänä. Pisti vain silmään tuo tapa käyttää termiä "positivismi". (En itsekään tiedä vastaavia tutkimuksia. Tässähän on myös mielenkiintoisia tutkimuseettisiä aspekteja. Ei kuitenkaan tutkimuksen tekijöiden kannalta.)

Ylläri-pylläri. Mutta, öö.. mielenkiintoinen kuvaus positivismista: "taloustieteilijöillä oli positivistinen tieteenihanne: ajateltiin, että valtavirtainen taloustiede on ylivertainen ja objektiivinen ala, erityisesti verrattuna muihin yhteiskuntatieteisiin".

It looks like the Wikipedia page for Mary Brunkow got created literally just this morning, after her Nobel Prize was announced. I had heard that women in academia tend to be somewhat under-represented on Wikipedia, but this is a particularly stark example.

Well, SA was an organisation of the Nazi Party. ICE is part of the US government (not the GOP). That's a principal difference.
