People should remember that one of the reasons Nazis are so bad at everything is because they’re Nazis. They’re ideological and part of their ideology is to purge anyone who doesn’t, and purging “undesirables”. This narrows their talent pool. They don’t - and can’t - understand this.

She isn’t Ellisons enemy is the issue. CBS isn’t a liberal enterprise anymore to the extent it ever was. We’re plagued by over-mighty citizens and they want further consolidation, and will use the tools they’ve acquired to facilitate that.

We are on our third turnover of our entire city council and they are still trying to shove a $5b bond down our throats for an entertainment district and a college BASKETBALL stadium for the local uni, which notably is known for FOOTBALL and already has an extant BASKETBALL stadium.

If there exists a category of people who don't have due process rights, then either there's a process for determining who fits in that category or there isn't. In the first case due process is still being observed for everyone, and in the second it can be denied to anyone. There are no other options

I don’t think he can. He has the cult because he projects being fighty. If he gets bitchmade by the Dems while they have effectively zero leverage I think the fractures they’re currently seeing over free speech and Epstein deepen dramatically.

I wonder how he would feel about blue state guards being used to solve red state drug and gun running problems. Toss a car dealership and you’re liable to find a kilo of cocaine. Rough up a few good ol’ boys for talking shit, make a few arrests for jimmy or bob being a felon with a gun.

Note that I don’t “like” Buttigiegs politics - he’s far too corporate and conciliatory for my taste and my desire is to return what the red team has done to them with interest - but operating from a place of reason he’s probably the steady hand if you want to pull back on the civil war throttle.

No, because of externalities. The backlash to Obama and his admirable but misguided attempts to reconcile the political space basically make him a net negative as well. There are small examples, Buttigieg for instance, who seem to be able to cast a wide net without huge backlash. Most, not so much.

Oh absolutely, just pointing out that whatever the virtues of doing it, he isn’t that guy.

I agree he shouldn’t be doing it but if he was going to anyway it needs to be off the cuff to work and he wouldn’t have done this if he understood the art form.
