I’m a turtle mom who likes to do things on turtle time & likes to take a brief pause to appreciate Mother Nature’s beauty. I believe healthcare is a human right & I believe every human being needs to be treated with respect, dignity and compassion. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

You may be right. I wonder if that’s why no kids came out tonight for candy. Last year we had some kids with great costumes. I don’t blame them if they didn’t feel safe & didn’t want to come out. It was cold & windy here in the upper 40’s. Could be weather? I’ll have to bring candy to work to share.
Remember the good old days when the scariest thing you would get on Halloween was an apple or a box of raisins?

Now kids have to worry about tear gas, pepper balls and being unlawfully kidnapped.

This is what America has become.
Interesting that HHS secretary hasn’t jumped on this study result probably because it would show vaccines would help prevent the pregnant moms from getting sick and passing it to their unborn child. He would rather do a red herring about Tylenol and ASD. Thank you for sharing the info. 😊
Even if churches try to help in their communities, 40 million folks to get enough food to cover at least 50% of their meals, is really daunting. Churches can’t cover that gap. Can they help some? Sure. Depends on financial resources to do daily soup kitchens or run daily pantries.
There must be a special place in hell for folks who refuse to get tested if they have a serious highly contagious illness that can harm or kill others. I can’t wrap my brain around that selfishness. Doctors explain it so these folks know they could be harming others. They have no excuse. ☹️
And, I was thinking maybe I was just being negative in my thinking. Nope. Thank you for verifying regular Americans have been getting the bad of things since around 1980.
Your emoji sums it up right. Yet another thing I have to check on the back of a box or bag of chocolate. I guess it could be worse. I just need to buy European chocolate when I can b/c they have less junk in their foods & snacks than the US has.
That lady has never had to raise a child with special needs. Local school districts can’t afford special ed costs themselves. No dept of education is no joking matter for kids or parents. Clearly that lady has no compassion for working class parents who can’t afford private full time tutoring. ☹️
So it’s not my imagination. Glad to know I’m not loosing it just yet. I‘m a chocoholic and I can only eat dark chocolate made without milk in it. So, that is a higher cocoa mass dark chocolate. Oh well…🤷‍♀️ 3 and a quarter years to go. I think I’ll age 8 yrs instead of 4 when the next admin comes in.
I noticed if you want dark chocolate with 85 % cocoa mass, the price went up at least 3 bucks more for a little over 3 oz bar. Those bars used to be about 4 oz. So, I‘m thinking it’s shrinkflation and a price increase with cocoa being so expensive now. ☹️
What is it with cats and boxes? I think it’s one of life’s mysteries. 🤣Give them a nice kitty bed and they choose a card board box.
Also, please make sure they can’t use all their savings accounts to buy extra food,TP, feminine products and paper towels that SNAP won’t be enough to cover. They seriously need to walk 1 month in poor folks shoes. Difference- they know it ends in 30 days. For the poor, it’s ongoing poverty.
There’s a lot of “hot takes” going around about how we could fix SNAP by only allowing healthy food & introducing stricter work requirements.

Here’s my hot take.

Make those in government rely on SNAP and Medicaid for one month.

Just 30 days.

Then see if they keep blaming the poor.
I totally agree. I work with seniors & I’ve seen the severe cognitive decline after a Covid infection, as well as stroke, new onset heart problems etc. The research just verified what healthcare folks & people with LC have known. The Covid deniers will still blame mom for her kids challenges tho.☹️
Thank you Dr Eastabrook for sharing the link.😊 I knew Covid really messes with the brain‘s function. I didn’t know about children having Neuro developmental issues if their mom had Covid while pregnant. Tho, it makes sense. That virus is nasty and is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
High risk pools mean- people with diabetes, cancer history, high blood pressure, seizures, asthma,COPD,high cholesterol, arthritis, heart issues will have much higher premiums. That list covers at least 50-60 % of Americans. Call it the sucks to be you/accident/age tax. It’s cruel.- a healthcare worker
“High risk pools” are groups where insurance companies put those with preexisting conditions. Don’t let them hide the ball.
And the cat doesn’t seem to mind. Bag pipe cat. 😂
What’s gross is there is no confirmation there’s drugs on the boats being trafficked. It’s hard to believe the admin when so many laws are broken in all kinds of other places and lies spew forth like a geyser. ☹️
You still have a soul( if you believe in a religion). Or, you are a good humanist who values all human life. Thank you ❤️😊
Large corporations lay off tons of workers, horde lots of profits and raise prices for their products. Cars are so unaffordable & crappy with computerized everything now. It’s just nuts. It’s untethered greed sucking down steroids. And they wonder why consumers aren’t buying new cars?! Duh! 🤦‍♀️
General Motors is axing nearly 1,700 jobs across Michigan and Ohio, gutting its EV and battery operations just months after boasting record profits and raising its outlook — a move that perfectly captures the moral bankruptcy of corporate America’s current layoff spree.
I so agree with you. KN95 I use has saved me twice when I was in a patients room before they were dx with Covid 10-12 hrs later. They are not exactly the same as N95. But, they fit better than the blue surgical masks which helps protect the wearer and those to the left & right.- a healthcare worker
It gives a feel of a cold late night in the late fall which is beautiful. I love the back lighting of the moon behind the trees shining through. I’ve always been fascinated by illumination. The photo seems very fit for a few days before Halloween.😊
