This is what happens when we ignore the science.

When we stop vaccinating, long eradicated diseases come back.

The kids deserve better than this. Measles can disable. It can kill. And it’s completely preventable.

When it comes to public health and outbreak response capacity, what happens in America doesn’t stay in America.

If the CDC is eviscerated it will have ripple effects the world over.

Many viruses are airborne and were in a time of global travel.

This is a threat to everyone.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

It is not too late for you to learn how to build your own air filters or to tap in with folks already doing so.

I think it’s appalling what Americans have to pay. I know many get their insulin and epi pens from Canada for this exact reason. But mathematically you can’t reduce something more than 100% or it’s literally free. I just feel like they throw numbers around without any meaning attached

FULL STORY HERE: Emails began flooding CDC inboxes late Friday night announcing dozens of layoffs. HR people brought back from furlough to oversee the RIFs. Disease detectives, entire Washington office, global health, injury prevention, MMWR staff among those hit.

ICE left David, a 17-year-old boy, stranded on the side of Interstate 20 after pulling over his immigrant father, Hector, in Mississippi.

David began running in the scorching sun after the car and watched as it disappeared from sight—soon headed to a Louisiana ICE prison.
