Flying proudly over the construction of the Vietnamese Museum Australia.

Often found amongst overseas Vietnamese as well as in oppositition movements. A yellow field and three horizontal red stripes. The yellow color traditionally represents Vietnam. Three red stripes symbolized the common blood running through northern, central, and southern Vietnam. This flag is prohibited in modern communist Vietnam since it was the national flag of the State of Vietnam and later the Republic of Vietnam (1949–75). Since 1975, it has been the flag of anti-communist Overseas Vietnamese recognized by many places in North America and Australia.
