There were 200,000,000 motor vehicles in the United States in 1995. How many are operational today? Where is the Annual Demand Side Depreciation Data for the US since Sputnik? What is Net Domestic Product? NDP = GDP - Depreciation But that Depreciation is Dcap, Capital Goods only. Economists might be able to come up with reasonable numbers for cars if they tried because of all of the state DMVs. But refrigerators, televisions, all Durable Consumer Goods? What about for the entire planet? But NO! All of the Demand Side Depreciation for every country on the planet can just be ignored for 70 years. No problemo! How does Planned Obsolescence affect the planet and the economy? Maybe it should be: NDP = GDP - (Dcap + Dcon) Dcon is Depreciation of Durable Consumer Goods It is just a simple Algebra problem.
