I didn't realize how hard this news would hit me. Most of it is tied to a bunch of childhood trauma when mom had cancer the first time in 2001.

So after yesterday's confirmed cancer diagnosis, I'm in no mental state to stream. We have bills fue this week, along with more appt copays, so we need funds.

So the biopsy for mom came back.

Cancer diagnosis confirmed. Invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue with keritanization.

Treatable, but still traumatic for me. My brain isn't handling the news very well.

I'm just gonna hang out with mom and play some games tonight.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.

wrote 20 pages on Faulkner's The Bear four hours before final papers were due on trucker pills and coffee and cigarettes and got an A, fuck you.

Back home. Biopsy took less than 30 min. Either the doc calls Mom right as the results come back, or she just goes back in 3 weeks.

I'm tired of driving, my shoulders hurt lol

Also, more people need to use their turn signals when swapping lanes. Too many people don't use them at all >:(

Also, i was cleaning out the weeds in the front yard and i was assaulted by a tree branch and it cut my middle finger

The wip for the photo box! Still need to use some extra wide washi tape to cover the edges, but it can at least do its job!

Fun fact: the actual box came from Norm's Corsair headset. Reusing cardboard at its finest...at least until we can afford a proper lightbox.

The biopsy was approved and is for 1 pm tomorrow!

Thankfully theres no extra co pay, but we do despretly need to get the oil changed on the car, cause the maintenence light came on about 30 min into the trip yesterday. Thats about 110 bucks right there (for full synthetic)

Finally home. The appt was fine. Mom's insurance wanted prior auth for the -biopsy-. So as soon as that goes thru, the biopsy gets scheduled for this week. Which means a second drive down to Detroit!

Also, watching the Dr's face go from "oh, this seems routine" to "serious time/go mode"

Today is appointment day. The gas tank is full, and we have the copay amount. However we have nothing for food for the day. We leave at noon, and we won't be getting home till at least 6 pm.
