A tiny independent not-for-profit record label in the UK. Music deserving of wider attention. Reissued for the first time on vinyl in small batches. With love. Posts by Simon. https://bio.site/unspunheroes

I reckon it’s a Friday/Saturday thing for parcels because essentially 48-hours means delivered on Monday and 24-hours is also delivery Monday. I will check out my theory next week.

Looks like a visit to the land of @drrubberfunk.bsky.social tomorrow, so Mrs. Unspun informs me.

Not to worry. Don’t rush on my account AT ALL!

Any chance you’re coming to The Betsy gig?

Yes please! Wondering if there will be any available for The Felt Tips gigs in November? I’m down your way for Herman Dune on 22nd, if that helps.

Same. I’ve seen it moored at Bradford-upon-Avon a couple of times but the weather has always been crappy and so it’s been shut.

Gone up 10p for a small parcel Tracked 48.

Looks like Tracked 24 is the same and no apparent change to international that I can see (not for the weight I send).

Hey @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social, I spotted one of those portals on a snap of the Oxford Canal over on the terrible picture-sharing website. Thought you’d like it.
A photo from a barge on the Oxford Canal taken by the owner of The Record Deck, which is a floating record shop in the UK. It shows a bridge reflected in the smooth waters that makes it look like some kind of weird interdimensional portal to another world. Which it probably is.

A lot of parcels hauled to the post office (where they keep telling me I can't post anything to the US even though I can). Did I mention it's up a really steep hill?

Anyway, UK buyers of The Felt Tips' debut album from 2010 with its debut on vinyl next Friday - your orders are on their way!

Nice to see postal prices are more expensive than yesterday.

As with every @needlemythology.bsky.social release, this one does not disappoint. Beautifully put together and the quality of the music, well, that was never in doubt.

I particularly love the train ticket hype sticker design.
An album cover for "Think Once More: A Journey with The Montgolfier Brothers." It features two men standing on what appears to be train tracks, with a modern building in the background. The image has a muted color palette. An album cover hype sticker for "The Montgolfier Brothers - Between Two Points," that is designed to mimic a UK train ticket and features a description of the music and comments from notable figures, presented as a 2x LP format. The label is identified as Needle Mythology.

The description and quotes read as follows:

THINK ONCE MORE 2xLP
A journey with THE MONTGOLFIER BROTHERS
Features *BETWEEN TWO POINTS*
Recently recorded by David Gilmour & Romany Gilmour

“...should be available on prescription as a remedy to the mad pace of the modern world." - Tim Burgess
"Sophisticated..,haunting songs to shyly, slyly, take up residency in your heart and head." - Stuart Maconie

Lovely afternoon at @lookingforthemagic.bsky.social with Will from @needlemythology.bsky.social although we crowded around Danny’s laptop for the lyric video for Richard Ashcroft’s latest single. Oh my. There is no eye and ear bleach strong enough.

What’s a good band you’ve discovered recently that not enough people know about? And don’t be like The Beatles you piece of shit, you ornery fuck

I just had an email from someone about something that I am truly excited about. Nothing is ever guaranteed, but boy would this be a release to light up the world.

Probably jinxed it now.

I already have this but not the ripped cover variant!

I'm giving away this signed 1st edition h/b of my new novel (it has a tiny jacket rip which means I wouldn't sell it) to one person who reposts this.

You might like it if you like:
Folkloric creatures
Old records
Intricate psychedelic stories
The idea of circular time

All shares much-appreciated.

Royal Mail online will allow you to buy postage as they can API into the US customs database and setup ahead of you posting. It’s the only way around it. However, today is the first time I’ve experienced them refusing to scan a prepaid label.

Oh same. They know me. As ever, we can trace this idiocy back to the Tories and their idea that private for-profit companies are best. It almost makes me want to chuck it all in right now. Just hope they arrive or I’m £200 out of pocket.

I propose we make a sacrifice of an orange goblin to the Gods of Shipping Vinyl. It’s the only way.

My local post office refused to accept the parcel. They have been instructed not to accept any US post. The Royal Mail website lets you buy postage for the US. I stood my ground and they scanned it in to the system as if paid and printed my own labels. Stupidity turned up to 11.

Pray for me, I'm sending vinyl out to the US.
