I was under the impression that if I mute someone, I will subsequently see zero content they generate — like muting a microphone. Is my perspective incorrect? Anyone? Bueller? 🤷‍♂️

I would give my eye teeth to learn how to do the same sort of work. But I reckon it would involve a lot of expensive computer software and a few years of my free time. 🤔

I don't think so, as there were only a couple of million users on Post at its peak. (It was a wonderful platform, but apparently not a money maker.)

I don't think so, b/c I do see some of the content posted by certain Bsky friends, but not all of their posts. And these are people with whom I interact and joke daily. 🤷‍♂️

For all I know, the same thing is happening with everyone I follow, and I've not fully sussed it out. (Do I sound paranoid?)

I also read (and sometimes respond to) tons of other web content, while posting on here and occasionally working my job. I'm usually juggling 7 or 8 browser tabs with different content sources, pretty much all of the time. 🙃

Ah, I get it now! You're smart to do that. I also follow a large number of SMEs, but rarely do I make a point of going to their homepage and looking at their latest posts and comments.

Then again, that's how I found out many of my Bsky friends are posting content that I never see. 🤔

Wait... what was it that you joined, at a time when it had just 10k users? Not Bluesky?

Heck, Bsky had 5.5 million user accounts, when I joined, seventeen months ago. When last I heard, the platform now has more than 40 million users! 😲

While Shay-Dee is, in fact, a habitual and outlandish liar, no one has ever claimed that he's a GOOD liar. 🤨

That practice of visiting individual accounts, so we don't miss our favorite folks' comments and posts, may well become necessary for all of us in the months ahead, if Jay and her development leads can't get this issue sorted. 🤷‍♂️😕

Our collective sense of humor has been blunted and dulled by the constant commotion, disinformation, and the wide-open fire hose of criminal nonsense with which 'Dopey McGropey' has sprayed the American people daily, for the past nine years. 😠

Despite having worked in IT and web content management, I have a very limited knowledge of how a platform like Bsky works behind the scenes.

There most definitely are mathematical algorithms involved, but how they work and the role they play in the routing of our posted messages is a mystery to me.
