Genuinely had a lot of fun designing the outfit for this, using iconography and depictions of things connected to the Dark in Deltarune, and the titular rune itself.
I was aiming for a combination of Black Mage, and like, Bards/Dancer for the vibe.

I have simply had burdensome karmic weight added to everything I do and say, and experiences that taught me magic etc isn't mere fantasy. There is power in the unseen.
The dark and the night and the wild have always been there for me, even at my loneliest and worst, and I have always been, for it.

I have very carefully trickled out my experiences and truths to trusted confidents and gotten plenty of feedback to suggest I am a reliable narrator after all.
Go figure, societal-constructs driven by dogmatic values established by genocidal colonizing forces probably aren't the best moral advisors.

I grew up in a small town and was pariah'd there for being ME. I am not some crazy asshole or a creep, I've been passing as VERY FUNCTIONAL and plenty SANE for years now, and at the word of plenty of psychological evaluation that I sought out MYSELF.

They've helped me find the most meaningful kinships with THEMES and ROLE in my life-less hard to swallow.
Easier to reconcile. Clearer to see.

Especially through these connections, people are finding themselves in escapism now more than ever. The reasons are many, but poignantly I believe the way the balance between Fate and Agency is addressed is very important.
As is the revelation that the harshlight isnt everything good and right.

These fictions are giving us ways to better reconcile with the tough truths of our realities, in ways that better reflect that reality and its underlying conceits than the supposed "Light" can really seem to bring to us. At least meaningfully; and the meaning is something people have started to see.

Maybe they have, too. Ideas deeply rooted, beyond just fiction. Connections to ancient ideals and beliefs held long before Certain Groups found it fit to push them out and take their place as spiritual have defined my life.
