PPA is incredibly proud of our team's leader Lisa Varga for her recognition by the Virginia Library Association!

Lisa, a longtime leader and champion for libraries in Virginia, was awarded Lifetime Membership of VLA in April and will be honored at the upcoming VLA conference. Congratulations, Lisa!
Virginia Library Association 2025 Honorary Life Membership: Lisa Varga.
- Whereas, Lisa Varga has faithfully served the Virginia Library Association as Executive Director since 2010;
- Whereas, Lisa Varga has elevated the Association to its highest membership rates; institutional participation; and conference attendance;
- Whereas, Lisa Varga effectively advocated for Virginia libraries through Freedom to Read and First Amendment threats; 
- Whereas, Lisa Varga has guided the Association to be more diverse, inclusive, and equitable;
- Whereas, Lisa Varga has provided support, mentorship, and collaboration locally, regionally, and nationally;
- Therefore, we proclaim Lisa Varga as an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Virginia Library Association as we wish her well in performing the same for the American Library Association.
