Am I reading this right? Did Trump say he took freedom of speech away?

Flagging Trump this afternoon:

"We took the freedom of speech away. Because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech — but what has happened is, when they burn a flag it, agitates and irritates crowds."

Last I checked the GOP controls all branches of our government.
Tweet from MeidasTouch: “Wow that’s crazy. Who’s running the federal government?”
Below, Acyn’s tweet quotes Rep. Mike Johnson: “If you look at polling, people’s faith in the federal government is at an all-time low. Why? Because they don’t see that it’s being done well.”
A C-SPAN screenshot shows Johnson speaking with another man standing beside him.

The people who want violent protests to happen are Trump, Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, Pete Hegseth, Tom Homan, and other senior appointees in his admin. They are doing everything they possibly can to provoke people to violence and it is obvious that is what they hope for daily.

Jeffries on Fox News Sunday: "My friends on other aisle seem to think believe healthcare is an extraneous issue. We don't believe it's an extraneous issue. It's a central issue...the states most affected are all ones Trump won...so this is not a partisan fight. We're fighting for everyday Americans"

Heartbreaking that the people who need the most care are the ones being abandoned.

It’s all about cruelty for them. 💔

Fanny Cäcilie Mendelssohn Bartholdy (November 14, 1805) was born in Hamburg, Germany. She was the eldest child in a culturally affluent family. From a young age, Fanny received thorough musical instruction—first at home, then from teachers such as Ludwig Berger and Carl Friedrich Zelter; her younger brother Felix Mendelssohn shared much of her education.

Fanny was a prolific composer, producing over 450 works, including Lieder (art songs), piano pieces, chamber music, four cantatas, an orchestral overture, a piano trio and quartet, among others. Despite her talent, much of her music remained unpublished in her lifetime, and societal norms often constrained her public role as a musician. At times, works by her were published under her brother’s name.

In 1829, Fanny married Wilhelm Hensel, a court painter. The marriage did not curb her musical output—she continued to compose and also hosted “Sunday concerts” (Sonntagsmusiken) at her home in Berlin, inviting friends, extended family and musical peers.

She died from a stroke on May 14, 1847 in Berlin; she was 41. Her brother Felix died less than six months later.
After her death, much of her music was either unpublished or wrongly attributed, but in recent decades there has been growing scholarship and performance of her work. In 2018, the Fanny & Felix Mendelssohn Museum opened in Hamburg to honor both siblings and their musical contributions.

“Christian conservatives” (they’re neither) Republicans are getting exactly what they want.

Lower wages, less flexibility, and limited reproductive choice—all these push women back into financial insecurity, unpaid home work and out of the higher corporate and management jobs. #VoteLikeWitches!

Women were closing the pay gap with men. That’s now changing.
The gender wage gap is growing. RTO is one reason, new study suggests, Researchers found that women were about three times more likely than men to leave a job for more flexible working conditions.
