But no matter what she wore - be it elegant or quirky- Diane Keaton showed us all how to be stylishly fabulous while being confidently comfortable with our own unique selves. She will be missed.

And this adorable black & white outfit featuring a beautiful red rose pinned at her waist, worn in the same film.

Like this pretty polka dot dress she wore in her 2007 movie "Because I Said So"

It will probably not come as any surprise that some of my favorites of Diane Keaton's Fashion Looks were the ones that had a bit of vintage flair.

She wasn't limited to just menswear. She also donned gorgeous dresses & skirts suits that also showed her uniquely cool Keaton style, like these very Fall-worthy outfits.

This included berets, which she was fond of wearing throughout her life.

As did hats...
After a skin cancer scare in her early 20s, Keaton nearly always wore hats to protect the skin on her face & on her scalp.

Suits remained one of her wardrobe staples throughout her life.

(My Gen X punk girl heart LOVES her shoes in this pic)

And who could forget the Edwardian-inspired tuxedo designed by pal, Ralph Lauren, that she wore to the 2004 Oscars.

Her unconventional style was showcased at Hollywood events as well. While most actresses wore elaborate sequined evening dresses to Awards Shows, Keaton often showed up wearing suits, like she did to the 48th Academy Awards in 1976.

Diane carried her sense of style off-screen as well as on.

The "Annie Hall Look" became a major fashion trend in the late 1970s.
voodoovintage.bsky.social
When costume designer, Ruth Morley asked director Woody Allen how Annie Hall should be costumed, Allen, who had worked w/ Keaton previously, said "Let Diane wear what she wants". As a result, most of the clothing seen in the movie came from Keaton's own closet.

Although she received critical acclaim for her roles on Broadway & in the 1972 film, "The Godfather" it was her role as Annie Hall in the 1977 movie of the same name where most people began to truly identify Diane Keaton as a fashion trendsetter.

Diane Keaton's love of fashion started early. She recounts in her 2024 book, "Fashion First" about how, as a little girl, she would pick out patterns and request that her mother make her custom outfits.

Diane Keaton created new ways for women on screen to laugh, think, cry, age, and, yes, dress. She was flinty and vulnerable and so much everything all at once. I, for one, wouldn’t be me without her.
