MARYLAND has no Abortion restrictions based on pregnancy stage. MD's Domestic Violence rate falls on the Lower end of the US Avg- 34.4% of MD women exp DV. 60% of MD's DV shelter needs are met. MD has strong gun restrictions & Extreme Risk Protection Laws to protect victims.

The suit's jacket shape would be the standard of jacket design during WW2, even through austerity laws that eliminated details like packets & wide lapels due to fabric restrictions.

Although somewhat shorter than the skirts of 1930s suits & dresses, the skirt to this particular suit is longer than skirts would be later throughout WW2 (due to fabric restrictions). Hemlines would drop once more in the late 1940's w/ Dior's "New Look".

Lanvin continued to operate &, like other houses that stayed open, designed for both the occupying forces & the French elite. Christian Dior (whose sister was in the Resistance) designed for Lelong's house during the occupation, while Jeanne Lanvin continued her work until her death in 1946.

Lucien Lelong, who led the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, managed to keep approximately 60 couture houses, including Lanvin, open by arguing the industry should not be moved to Berlin, which was Hitler's preference.

The Nazis sought to control Paris's famous fashion industry to further their own economic & ideological goals, forcing it to operate under their permission & control. Hitler hated French Fashion & felt Parisian women in particular went against the Nazi ideals of "womanhood".

This suit was definitely from Lanvin's Fall/Winter 1940 Collection, shown in Paris just before the Nazi occupation of France. After the invasion, the Nazis imposed restrictions on fabric and styles to make French Fashion more "German". 🧵
