Had it once. Not sure what the big deal was. Maybe I was eating it wrong or it’s because it’s local so it should be appreciated more.

Would take Dungeness over it any day, of course though, it’s also stupid expensive now.

Probably collective bargaining is the most immediate answer.

Class consciousness is a hard thing to establish in these times though where too many think they are temporarily disadvantaged millionaires and fellow workers with slightly more melanin might be getting something they aren’t.

Realistically in advance of employment.

IMHO, the employer is the financially dominant party and has the most to gain from the employee’s training & retention. The onus is on the employer to hire right and provide a working environment that encourages retention rather than threats and indenture.

It’s a risk shift from the employer to the employee, who has far less resources.

The employers argument is the “training” is expensive and the employee could take it and go elsewhere with a loss to the employer.

Well,the employer could be terrible to work for and the employee has no way to know it

It’s not just agriculture.

For example health care, it’s common for new nurse’s to go through an onboarding period that the employer considers to be compensated training that if they leave before a certain period the employer will demand reimbursement.

They’re obsessed with the imagery of Russian strength. It wouldn’t surprise me if they knew it, but thought that the Russian ship looked better because of all the launchers and cannons.

The irony of course is, they only look tough.
