I'm 24 years old. I have a mortgage and own my own home, and I have a full time job.

But under Cass' recommendations Levy, I wouldn't be trusted with hormones if he decides to consider it.

Shows how ridiculous it all is.

These new figures come in the wake of 2024's Cass Review of gender services for children, which recommended the creation of a 'follow-through service' for 17 to 25-year-olds. Cass said this would help "ensure continuity of care and support at a potentially vulnerable stage in a trans person's journey" and "allow clinical and research follow-up data to be collected". This sparked fears that access to healthcare, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) would be restricted or even banned for under-25s -

The counterprotest ends at Old Steine, where some protesters will continue onto the Clocktower for a protest at 12:00 in support of Palestine.

For those in Brighton this weekend, please stay safe; there is a large police presence and an even larger TERF presence out on the streets.

One restaurant along the march route also has bunting in support of FiLiA.

The same bunting was reportedly seen at Brighton Railway Station yesterday, however today it is nowhere to be seen.

Unfortunately, the police managed to drive a wedge in the counterprotesters - They got in the middle of the march, splitting the group in two.

After approximately 2 hours, the counterprotesters have started moving away from the Brighton Centre, towards the Old Steine.

Dozens of police swarm around them and follow.

A very heavy police presence is at the scene today.

According to the counterprotesters, one protester was arrested this morning.

Furthermore, security at the event entrance has been massively increased with full height metal gates and more stewards.

Today, the counterprotesters have started giving out leaflets.

This is because yesterday they managed to talk someone out of going to FiLiA, and they felt that leaflets could communicate such messages more effectively.

They have also started giving out stickers promoting trans joy.

FILIA calls itself "Europe's largest feminist conference."

In reality, it is a hub for all the worst and most authoritarian politics that hides under the feminist label. FiLiA's approach is not feminist, it is cruel, rigid, and hurts the people most vulnerable under patriarchy.

Anti-trans politics

FILIA advertises more events and speakers which focus on transgender people than any other topic. This includes a workshop for individuals to learn how to set up groups to exclude transgender people, and an event celebrating the recent supreme court ruling that threatens to push trans people out of public life, and has already increased harassment and violence faced by trans people.

Real feminists understand that transphobia is a manifestation of patriarchy, and that liberation for women cannot be seperated from liberation for trans people.

Anti-sex work politics

FiliA advocates the Nordic Model - where selling sex is legal but buying it is a crime. Compared to completely decriminalising sex work, the Nordic Model results in less abuse being reported, and more sex workers being targetted by police.

Opposing adult content online, including in video games

FILIA signed a recent petition that resulted in hundreds of video ga being banned from online distributors, and have invited the organ Collective Shout to speak at the conference. This goes against TRANS artistic freedom.

All out against transphobia! On Saturday, November 1, TERFS intend to march in London, demanding trans exclusionary, discriminatory legislation, and threatening trans people on our streets.

We cannot let this happen unchallenged- they may have been emboldened by the Supreme Court Ruling, but so have we. Just a few days after ruling, we marched through Westminster to express our rage, be with community, and make it clear that we would continue to fight for trans liberation. That march was only the start.

We need as many people possible out again on the first of November, to show up for collective liberation and show the TERFS that they will never divide us. less

TRANS ACTIONISTS TARGET ANTI-TRANS CONFERENCE

Trans direct action group "BASH BACK" accuses FiLiA of having "blood on their hands"

Last night - October 9th - actionists representing trans direct action group BASH BACK took action against the Brighton Centre, host of this year's FILIA conference, which begins its 10th annual event today.

Actionists from BASH BACK - which took action against Health Secretary Wes Streeting in August smashed windows and sprayed pink paint on the Brighton Centre building in protest at the anti-trans views expressed by FiLiA attendees. The group's objective was to prove trans people will not be intimidated, saying that FiLiA should "expect retaliation" if they continue.

A spokesperson for BASH BACK said:

"Despite presenting itself as a feminist conference with 'zero tolerance [...] for transphobia', FiLiA plays host to some of the most vicious transphobia in modern pop-politics.

"The conference's notable alumni include JK Rowling and Maya Forstater, and this year feature bigot-provocateurs such as Julie Bindel, LGBAlliance and

Transgender Trend, as well as Jenny Wilmott, director of Scottish Lesbians - one of the groups responsible for this year's segregationist and transphobic Supreme Court ruling.

"Speakers at FiLiA claim to advocate for 'protecting women's spaces' and 'sex based rights' but routinely advocate for the erasure of women's bodily autonomy and self determination. Their vile and hateful rhetoric that seeks to exclude and erase us leads to the same kind of discriminatory violence that kills hundreds of trans people every year. Far from outsider radicals, the bigots at FiLiA are backed by billionaires like J.K. Rowling, fundamentalist Christian groups, and the Labour government itself. This is the norm, and we will rise against it. To save ourselves, to save our community. To fight for our right to exist.

"Bindel, Wilmott and FiLiA itself have our blood on their hands, and for years they have sought a stage to gloat about it. This year, we will not allow them the privilege.

"BASH BACK recognises the speakers at FiLiA as neither radical nor feminist, and, like the suffragettes and radical queers before us, that the only path toward liberation is through action."

The BASH BACK spokesperson added:

"To the organisers of FiLiA we say this: If you expect to continue in your trade of transphobic hate, if you expect to continue in your queerbashing and transmisogyny and call it 'feminism', then expect resistance, expect retaliation, expect us. Paint washes off, but blood never does."

Notes to editors

BASH BACK is a trans-led direct action project focused on "total transgender liberation", and has previously taken action against Health Secretary Wes Streeting and private prison firm Sodexo.
