Nope. That’s stupid. Likewise saying Israel should not be there because of the weird way it was created as a modern country, after much of the world did little while Jews of any nationality were persecuted and millions were killed. Calling it colonialism is a shallow interpretation.

Various Europeans now occupy lands they once didn’t. The entire US was once populated and Europeans just took it.

There were Jews before Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews became identified as such. They were in Jerusalem along with others.

That’s impossible to disentangle now. Red herring.

I think the main point is we Americans just don’t get to decide how other countries form governments. We are having enough trouble keeping our own democracy. I’m all for limiting arms sales to Israel if they are expansionist or their army is genocidal. But they aren’t the only mess.

I don’t agree that Zionism includes the right to expand the Jewish state. But they do have a right to exist. And arrogant Americans can’t decide how all of the world should be run.

Nah. She writes about being the girl who has everything. She’s not greedy. Maybe she’s just happy and exuberant and no one can tell her not to release an album if she feels like it.
