Every app cooks your brain. You can have tik tok brain or twitter brain or reddit brain. Bluesky is the least damaging imho. You control your feed + if you do choose to venture beyond that all you'll learn is a lot about furries and that Gavin Newsom sucks and maybe realize you're trans. A+ website
journalists think they "learn more" on X because it is durably shifting users' views on policy and current events towards conservative positions -- which assuredly nets them more positive attention and engagement on the platform

I don’t particularly care what anyone misses out on in their personal lives. But if one set of activists/institutions/candidates sniffs glue, and another doesn’t because they’re a priori convinced it can’t possibly have any utility for any function, I’m concerned insofar as I care who wins.
