Im guessing to be paid, someone, somewhere must have a file on all these ICE goons. Their names, addresses , photo ID and so on. How come they’re so confident then that when the smoke clears that a new administration will not prosecute them for taking part in a conspiracy to kidnap innocent people?

The UK referendum was not legally binding, even in the UK, nor was it a matter of EU competence. Normally, this would have prevented the ECJ from considering any case before article 50 was triggered. It would be interesting to see an analysis suggesting otherwise.

One caveat I would add - increasing tax rates for high rate tax payers will not catch those who do not pay taxes anyway. Legal loopholes (like offshoring assets in the cayman islands) need to be closed. Tax dodgers need to be vilified not respected.

For what it’s worth, I spent 30+ years working in the commission and while the UK diverged on some issues, so at various times did all the other countries. On foreign policy and security issues the UK was a leader. I wouldn’t say decision making is now easier either - see Hungary and Slovakia.

Unfortunately a Royal commission would presumably be very welcome by Leavers as it could effectively block for years any attempt by a UK parliament to undue the mess of Brexit. (“We have to wait for the commission to report”). We know what happened and why. What’s needed now is action.
