We’re happy to support the region in many big ways, and one is the Army Ten-Miler! Last year, Metro moved thousands of participants and we’re ready to do it again on Sunday. #RunArmyRunStrong

Nearest Metro station? Pentagon 📍
Two men, smiling, wear Army Ten-Miler shirts, medals, and race numbers (9796 and 15130). They're posing, arms around each other, in what appears to be a metro station. The race date is October 8, 2023.

Addressing our Capital funding challenges will allow us to continue moving toward being the world-class transit organization this region deserves and solidify our modernization of rail, bus priority and overall capacity planning.
wmata.com
Last year, we highlighted Capital funding challenges while working w/ regional leaders to close a $750M operational budget deficit. We solved that challenge. Now we're looking to solve long-term Capital funding. DMVMoves is key to helping us keep our forward momentum.

Creating a seamless transit experience for our customers is a major focus for our team. The improvements we’ve been able to deliver have helped contribute to our consistent 54-months of ridership growth. Below are a few highlights:
wmata.com
A key part of advancing Capital programs is finding efficiencies and new ways of working that identify cost savings. While $120M was saved in the operating budget to end FY26, the Capital program also realized cost savings, showcasing Metro’s commitment to financial stewardship.
wmata.com
The Capital Budget is one of most important tools we use to ensure that continuous improvements are made for the region. Capital dollars address long-term planning and modernization of our assets with inputs that drive prioritization.

Our Talented Team works closely to plan this work while keeping the considerations below top of mind. We’ve reduced the impacts of planned work by 65% since 2019, and we're continuously looking to minimize inconveniences while delivering service excellence for the region.
wmata.com
We’re previewing all upcoming planned work, so customers, businesses and tourists can better plan their future travels. While planned work is not ideal, it’s a necessary part of our continuous improvements to maintain the safety and reliability of an almost 50-year-old system.
